The New and transformed Miley Cyrus

What’s the first thing that pops into your head when you hear the name, “Miley Cyrus?” Is it Hannah Montana? Is it her performance at VMA when she grinded on Robin Thicke? Only recently, she went on Jimmy Fallon and talked about quitting weed and her new image that is much less provocative.

Miley Cyrus’ hit TV show Hannah Montana ended in 2011, and only 2 years after that, she went on VMA wearing a teddy bear suit and grinding on Robin Thicke with her tongue out, shocking pretty much everyone. She made music videos like, “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball” with some shots of her with her tongue out, some very provocative images and nudity.

In 2013, she spoke to Rolling Stone about her image.

“I know what I’m doing. I know I’m shocking you. When I’m dressed in that teddy bear thing, I think that’s funny.”

She explained.

“I just stick my tongue out because I hate smiling in pictures. It’s so awkward. It looks so cheesy. Now people expect it, like, ‘Put your tongue out!’”

Recently, her image has changed drastically. Rolling Stone’s Joyce Chen wrote in an article published on June 23, 2017,

“In recent months, Cyrus has simplified her image to one that’s a bit more reminiscent of her days as the child star of Disney channel’s hit series, Hannah Montana. At the Billboard Music Awards last month, the outspoken singer donned white shorts, a white off-shoulder cropped top, boots and a floppy hat to perform her gauzy single Malibu. (The image was a far cry from her eye-popping, provocative performance with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV VMA Awards.)”

In regards to weed, she stated in the 2013 article mentioned above,

“Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better. And molly, too. Those are happy drugs – social drugs. They make you want to be with friends.”

On June 15, 2017, she went on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and she talked about weed,

“I kept having this nightmare, it was seriously horrible.”

She continued.

“I had this dream that I would die during my monologue on SNL for some reason. That I would just get so stoned that I just died. Which I Googled, and that’s never happened.”

Then, she explained further,

“No one’s ever died from weed, but no one has ever smoked as much as I did, so they don’t really know.”

Quitting weed and stopping all of her previous provocative actions have definitely helped her becoming more clear-minded.  In the Fallon interview, she said,

“I’m actually the most passionate about what I’m doing with this record than I’ve been.”

We wish her the best and hope she continues her way on the good path she’s been heading.

Her new songs, “Inspired” and “Malibu” are available on iTunes and Spotify.

The Epic Way Campbell Saunders could’ve returned to Degrassi: Next Class

Who still remembers Campbell Saunders? As Degrassi fans wait anxiously for the fourth season of Degrassi: Next Class on Netflix, saying goodbye to the last class of students from the original series, let’s look back on one character who is no longer a student and a great way they could’ve brought the character back even just for one scene.

Who was Campbell Saunders? Canadian actor Dylan Everett joined the show in the beginning of the original Degrassi’s twelfth season, appearing first in its “Bite Your Tongue” season 12 promo video with the rest of the Degrassi cast. It has 78,590 views on YouTube. Saunders played for the hockey team and dated Maya Matlin. He became the fan-favorite character really quickly. He appeared only in 20 episodes, but Dylan Everett brilliantly portrayed Saunder’s struggles and everything that drove him into that fatal decision in the greenhouse and ended his own life. Everett’s last episode on the show aired on February 15th, 2013.

Throughout season three in Degrassi: Next Class, Maya Matlin has developed a fascination with death. In the last episode of season 3, #ImSleep, it has been 4 years after Campbell’s suicide, and Maya Matlin sat in an empty school bus attempting to kill herself by putting many pills into her mouth and waited for her death listening to music. Then, after awhile, she decided to walk onto the school’s attic, looking down and taking a picture of trees. Two students found her with liquid out of her mouth. Then, the doctors in the hospital saved her. It was as strange and weirdly uneventful as the description you had just read, and her “death fascination” storyline ended in an awkward way. The show seemed to say, “Stop becoming fascinated with death or you will die…well, almost die!”

When Campbell Saunders died, Everett said during an interview in the YouTube video, “The Inside Look: Bitter Sweet Symphony,” “When I originally auditioned for the part, I had known one of the reasons I was submitted for, they were like, oh it’s just gonna be one season, and then progressively throughout the season, you find out that Cam is depressed and whatnot, so it was speculated on set whether it was gonna happen or not.” He continued, “It was a surprise to everyone when we came back from the hiatus and that was the first script we’re reading and then boom! It happened and everyone was just in shock.“ It was supposed to be shocking, it was supposed to be sad, but it wasn’t as impactful as the show developers had hoped, mainly because the character was only on screen for 20 episodes. A few PSA videos and on camera interviews were made and his death mostly impacted Matlin but then everyone moved on, including Matlin, and Saunders was barely mentioned, and especially during Degrassi: Next Class, no one even talked about Saunders until the third season when Matlin mentioned him while she was talking to Saad in #PicsOrItDidnthappen.

Instead of her randomly going to the attic when she attempted to kill herself, wouldn’t it have been better if she suddenly felt alone dying in the school bus and so she stepped into the Degrassi Green House, wanting to be at the place her former lover passed away and so even though she was dying in the dark all by her lonesome, she didn’t feel alone because she was going to see Saunders after death? Then, when she started hallucinating, have Campbell Saunders appear in an illusion, urging her not to make his mistake because if he had not died, he would’ve been able to be a great hockey player, maybe even join the National Hockey League, maybe they would’ve been able to grow old together. The spirit of Campbell Saunders might even encourage her to become a great singer and write a song about him one day, making Matlin want to treasure her own life and end her fascination with death. It would’ve given her “death fascination” story a better resolution and actually allowing Saunders’ death to mean something. Instead of using the storyline to warn kids against being fascinated with death, it would’ve encouraged the viewers to treasure their lives. It would’ve reinforced everything they were trying to say with Saunder’s death and it would’ve been more powerful than any of the PSA videos they made after Saunder’s death.

According to Dylan Everett’s IMDB, Campbell Saunders will make an appearance in Degrassi: Next Class season 4’s finale, “#KThxBye.” However, it’s actually a mistake and the character would not make an appearance at all. Twitter user @frahry asked the Degrassi Writers (@DegrassiWriters) regarding Saunders’ credit on IMDB with a picture of it attached to the tweet saying, “Care to explain?” The Writers confirmed it was a mistake with their reply saying, “No idea.”

Degrassi: Next Class will premiere its fourth season on Friday, July 7th on Netflix.

Keiynan Lonsdale’s One Month Post-Coming Out Journey

When you’re someone in the LGBTQ community, it’s terrifying to come out to close friends and family members, but for a television star, your relationships with others are not the only things at stake as you come out to the world. Only a month ago, on May 12th, The Flash actor Keiynan Lonsdale came out on Instagram, after becoming “bored of being insecure, ashamed, scared,” revealing that he is bisexual in a heartfelt post saying, “I like girls, & I like guys (yes)” Let’s take a look at how his decision has impacted his life so far.

Only days after coming out, Google search of “Keiynan Lonsdale” became filled with news articles about his coming out Instagram post. The post was covered by news organizations including E! News,, Entertainment Tonight, and even Daily Mail. On May 22nd, 10 days after coming out, Lonsdale was interviewed by BUILD Series’ Matt Forte about the CW series, The Flash, and Lonsdale was asked how he felt during the moments leading up to coming out. He said,

“Honestly at the time, I did it all based off of feeling and I really wasn’t even thinking that much, which was kinda nice, because it is something that I’ve been thinking about for as long as I can remember, so it was sort of…I don’t know…it was actually really relaxing (laughs) which is something I never thought I’d be able to say about the topic, but yeah! It felt good. It was very freeing.”

On June 2nd, he was featured on Vulkan Magazine and he was interviewed about his character on The Flash, then he was interviewed by Fuse on June 5th.

Since he came out, his acting career has been on the rise along with his popularity.  On June 12th, 2017, news updates Twitter account for the book-to-film adaptation of Becky Albertalli’s Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, @simonvsfilm announced Keiynan Lonsdale will be playing the character Bram Greenfeld, a friend and classmate of Simon, he will star in the film alongside Nick Robinson, Jennifer Garner, Colton Haynes and other stars.

Lonsdale is on hiatus from filming The Flash, but he has been busy focusing on his other love besides acting, which is singing. He performed live at the Roxy on May 19th with musical artist Louis Futon. On June 5th, he spoke to Fuse and said that he had been writing and recording music.

“Hopefully there will be a summer release, but we haven’t set a date yet.”

He continued,

“I tried to set a date before and then we sort of have to come together and figure out like no we needed to make sure everything was creatively right, so I’m not setting a date until we know for sure.“

With everything looking up for him, he is looking at a busy year ahead. He wrote another instagram post for pride on June 12th, exactly a month after he came out, describing how his life has changed for the better,

“I can’t express enough how my life/perspective has exploded with colour since choosing to simply be myself. I apply it to all aspects of my life, not just sexuality, it’s bigger than that. When you’re free to be yourself, you make so much room in your fucking mind to be more creative, to love better, to feel better, to think more clearly.. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made.. but also the hardest. I don’t take it lightly, I never will.”

The post already gained 27,439 likes within a day.

It’s been quite impressive to see how different aspects of Keiynan Lonsdale’s public life were enhanced simply because he was brave enough to be true to himself and show the world a part of himself he wasn’t even ready accept long ago. He has already accomplished so much with his life within a month. One could only imagine what he could do in a year.

The Flash season 4 premieres on October 10th, 2017. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda is set to be in movie theatres on March 16, 2018.

Since he came out, his acting career has been on the rise along with his popularity. Click To Tweet

Stephen Amell tried the “American Ninja Warrior” course

The superhero TV show Arrow’s star Stephen Amell ran the American Ninja Warrior course for NBC’s Red Nose Day Special, raising money for Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and it was amazing.

Fans of Arrow have seen Amell engage in hand-to-hand combat with superheros, ninjas, and other villans, and done stunts that are crazier than the American Ninja Warrior course, therefore it was no surprise that Amell ran through the course like he could’ve done it in his sleep.

According to, he spoke to fans at London’s Heroes & Villans FanFest, revealing that it wasn’t as easy as he made it look and he even thought he had injured himself.

“I thought I tore my biceps off of the bone in the second obstacle. I couldn’t feel anything from there to there.”

Amell said,

“I think, all things considered, it went pretty well.”

He talked about the part he was most worried about,

“I was worried about the blocks that rotate when you run past them because they say, ‘Don’t worry if they’re tilted off to the side or if they’re level. Just hit the middle and go as fast as you can,’

He continued,

“What you get is a great idea, except when they’re tilted the wrong way and they’re over water!”

Stephen Amell’s attempt on American Ninja Warriors was really inspiring for actors, athletes, or fitness enthusiasts alike. Jennifer Morrison leaves Once Upon a Time

As Once Upon a Time wraps up its storyline for the last 6 seasons in the season finale this Sunday, it prepares to start season 7 with a brand new storyline and characters. Some of the original cast members might leave the show after the current season. Jennifer Morrison, who plays Emma Swan, has announced season 6 would be her last season on the show.

Morrison wrote in an Instagram post,

“After very careful consideration, I have decided that creatively and personally, it is time for me to move on. Emma Swan is one my favorite characters that I have ever played. My 6 years on ONCE UPON A TIME has changed my life in the most beautiful ways.”

However, the season 6 finale will not be the last time we see Emma Swan. Morrison has agreed to appear as a guest star in one episode of season 7 if it is renewed.

Regarding Morrison’s exit, series creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis says,

“The past six years of collaborating with Jennifer as Emma Swan have been truly magical. Watching her breathe life into Emma, she accomplished more than we could have dreamed possible — she gave life to a brand-new Disney Princess, filled with strength and intelligence and an incredible closet full of red leather jackets. We’ll miss seeing her every day, but her imprint upon Once Upon a Time is indelible. She will always be a part of the show and its heart and soul.  That said, just because Jennifer won’t be back every week doesn’t mean we won’t see our savior again.”

According to, season 7 of Once Upon a Time will center on Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle, Colin O’Donoghue and The Walking Dead‘s Andrew J. West. Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas and Jared Gilmore haven’t been confirmed to return to the show.

The show will not be the same without the savior, and if Goodwin, Dallas and Gilmore don’t return, the show would lose 4 of its original cast members.  The audience has to watch the season 6 finale to find out how they will set up season 7 to deal with the major cast shake up.

HARRY STYLES’ First Solo Debut Performance on SNL (VIDEO)

After One Direction split up in January 2016, Harry Styles has been hinting at the release of his first solo album for awhile. Last week, Styles announced through Instagram that his album will be released on May 12th, 2017. Last Saturday night, Harry Styles appeared on Saturday Night Live as a musical guest alongside guest host Jimmy Fallon for an episode of laughs and fun, and he performed his new song as a solo artist for the first time on stage since the band split up.

He sang two songs on the show, “Sign of the Times” and “Ever Since New York.” Because of his exit from the band, his music now is very different than the songs he used to sing. In a Rolling Stone interview, he talked about the meaning behind the song “Sign of the Times,”

“Most of the stuff that hurts me about what’s going on at the moment is not politics, it’s fundamentals … Equal rights. For everyone, all races, sexes, everything. ’Sign of the Times’ came from ‘This isn’t the first time we’ve been in a hard time, and it’s not going to be the last time.’ The song is written from a point of view as if a mother was giving birth to a child and there’s a complication. The mother is told, ‘The child is fine, but you’re not going to make it.’ The mother has five minutes to tell the child, ‘Go forth and conquer.’”

Obviously, this style of music is very different from songs like “What Makes You Beautiful” or “Live While We’re Young.”

Other than his solo musical debut, it was his first time acting on screen as well. He dressed up and acted as Mick Jagger during SNL’s “Celebrity Family Feud: Time Travel Edition” segment and it was a very spot on imitation. He also acted as a civil war soldier and sang a bit during their civil war segment.

We’re so excited to hear the rest of the album and see the change of his music style after his exit from One Direction.

Pre-order his debut album from his website:
